Who We Are

The Boulder Lake Advancement Association is an accredited, non-profit, non-stock corporation organized under Chapter 181 of the Wisconsin Statutes.  The Association provides opportunities for neighborly social contact and expression of ideas for the benefit of the Association and its members, and protection of Boulder Lake for future generations.

The purpose of the Association is to preserve and protect Boulder Lake and its surroundings, and to enhance the water quality, fishery, boating safety, and aesthetic values of Boulder Lake as a public recreational facility for today and for future generations.   In short, our mission is to be responsible stewards of Boulder Lake.

Our association was formed in 1980 because many property owners on the lake decided it would be good to get to know each other better and work together to maintain and improve this beautiful treasure.  Over our history, we have monitored the lake level, stocked the lake with fish, and donated our time and other resources to improve the boat landing.  Beginning in 2018, we undertook several new initiatives:

  • Participated in the Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) watercraft inspection program
  • Provided training in AIS (aquatic invasive species)
  • Participated in DNR and Vilas County programs, including Healthy Lakes and other grant programs and the Directed Lakes study
