Boulder Lake is a Treasure It Provides Beauty and Value to Us All

Yet, as we all know, the lakes of Wisconsin are constantly under the threat from a growing number of invasive species. That is why we all need to do what we can to protect this amazing resource. This is just one reason why your membership in the Boulder Lake Advancement Association is so important.

There are several hundred property owners on Boulder Lake waters or within a mile of the lake and yet we have just under 100 members. This is why we are asking you to join the Boulder Lake Advancement Association. For only $25 per year you can play a role in ensuring the quality of Boulder Lake now and for your future generations.

Each member of your household can become a member and have a vote in our future. An annual meeting held each Memorial Day weekend provides members with an update on activities of the previous year as well as current conditions of the lake and plans for new projects for the coming year.

Some of the Activities of the association include:

  • Working with the DNR to understand issues confronting Wisconsin lakes
  • Working with the DNR on the Directed Lakes program
  • Placing and removing buoys marking hazards on the lake
  • Monitoring boat landing to educate boaters regarding invasive species
  • Harvesting of Rusty Cray Fish (a long term invasive in Boulder Lake)
  • Removing Purple Loosestrife and other invasive plants along the shore
  • Monitoring the water quality of the lake
  • Monitoring the water level of the lake
  • Communicating and meeting with other lake associations
